Pier One Sydney Harbour promises guests a world class view of the fireworks display this New Year's Eve with a focus on pop-up eatery and drink stations as well as DJs spinning the tunes all night long. Feast on seafood paella, Kerrigan mini-burgers, and pork bao buns as well as oyster bars and cheese and charcuterie grazing tables all round. The folks at Catalina Sydney are offering an early bird dinner on New Year's Eve from 6pm ($150 per head) with a set menu while a later dining time of 8.30pm ($275 per head) is the prime place to be for viewing the spectacular Sydney fireworks at midnight. Bookings must be made in advance. The Rose Bay stalwart also hosts the hottest New Year's Day party with flowing bubbles and all the cool kids – if you can get a ticket.

The luxurious Chairman Suite at the Langham in Melbourne can accommodate up to five guests – priced at $7000 for the evening and is still up for grabs.
