Aston Martin has spun a station wagon concept off its Rapide four-seater.
The Aston Martin Rapide has been turned into a station wagon.
Italian design house Bertone will unveil a new sports wagon version of the Aston Martin Rapide, called the Jet 2+2, at the 2013 Geneva motor show.
The car features a bold rear end design reminiscent of the Porsche Panamera Sports Turismo concept, and has a longer roof, heavily revised rear-end and a touched-up nose section.
According to international reports, the Jet 2+2 is a one-off design that has already been snapped up by one lucky Aston Martin collector based in the UK.
The car is powered by the existing Rapide model’s 6.0-litre 350kW/600Nm V12 engine, rather than the uprated 410kW/620Nm unit in the new Aston Martin Rapide S.
Inside, the Jet 2+2 features a 2+2 seat layout with bucket seats in the front and back and a large centre console running between the chairs. There have been no boot shots issued, but it’s expected to be slightly more useful than the Rapide sedan.
The collaborative project has been produced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the two companies working together.
