A Sydneysider is $24.9 million richer today, after winning a share of yesterday's $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot, NSW Lotteries says.
The jackpot, which swelled to $74.8 million after increased interest from punters, was shared between three winning tickets – one from western Sydney, one from Adelaide and one from south-west Melbourne.
A NSW Lotteries spokeswoman could not say if the western Sydney winner had come forward to claim the prize.
More than 2.2 million prizes totalling $119.6 million were won in the other divisions, NSW Lotteries said in a statement.
The last big lottery winner in NSW was a healthcare professional from northern Sydney, who walked away with $38.1 million after buying a $5 Jackpot lottery ticket at a George Street newsagency in Sydney's CBD in November.
The winner said then that she was "very happy and very thankful", and that she would keep on working as she loved her job.
The previous highest jackpot was in November 2007, when a 49-year-old Penrith grandmother took home $11.79 million.
