TAG Heuer's special edition Carbon Series now available in Australia

TAG Heuer's special edition Carbon Series takes the iconic brand's DNA and hurls it into the future of watch design, intersecting style with the practicality and durability of the traditional sports timepiece.

Available instore from today, the Carbon Series includes a new-look Aquaracer and the first from collaboration series Monaco Bamford.

Dark sided

Aesthetically, however, the Carbon Series Aquaracer reads more Jason Bourne than Steve Zissou. Lightweight, extremely durable, the dial boasts an imitation carbon effect illuminated by hints of colour.

Depending on your preference you can choose from either rose gold, yellow, or blue.

Injection of carbon fibres into a resin that is then pressed at high temperatures results in a unique rippling effect – reminiscent of water and the play of light while submerged – that is different for every timepiece. You'll never worry that someone will have the exact same one as you.

But if you're considering taking your, ahem, time to think about whether or not you need to add to the collection, consider this: only 750 each of the three Aquaracers and 500 of the Monaco Bamford have been made.

Water resistance is up to 300 metres and the use of a textile strap brings extra lightness and ease of wearing while underwater making comfort clearly at the forefront of the design.

Time sensitive

While you can buy the watch online, there's an extra incentive to get yourself down to your TAG Heuer boutique.

The first 10 customers to buy the new special edition Carbon Series will to test their mettle (and their brand new dive watch) with a chance to swim with the sharks and put TAG Heuer's tagline into real life perspective.

Don't crack under pressure indeed.

But as grey nurse sharks casually swim around your head, it's more likely you'll be the one to crack before your watch ever does.

This experience is also exclusive to Australian TAG Heuer boutiques only, located in Sydney, Melbourne, Chadstone, Brisbane and Pacific Fair.

First looks

Also hitting the stores this month is TAG Heuer's collaboration piece, the Monaco Bamford. The first in the serial production of a watch for Bamford Watch Department, this is a brand-new interpretation of the iconic Monaco, sporting a solid carbon case and an elegant full black dial that enhance the aqua blue chronometers.

The new special edition Carbon Series Aquaracer and Monaco Bamford will be available online and in TAG Heuer boutiques in Sydney, Melbourne, Chadstone, Brisbane and Pacific Fair.
